Here are some of my favorite (and one of the oddest!) pieces from this Collection.
Bernice Farabee (Nellie's mother.) She died about one week after Nellie's birth.
Land Mortgage from 1896 - Dr. Farabee buys land in Danville, Indiana.
An envelope with "Mother's Hair" in it.
Brochure for Miss Burris's "Leisure Hour" shorthand school, with Nellie, and her cousin, June, on the front.
Nellie's 1949 diary in which she writes secrets in shorthand (would love to transcribe some day!)
Nellie, around age 12.
Walter's WWII War Ration booklet - still has stamps inside. (Walter was Nellie's husband.)
The Elite Cafe on W. Morris Street in Indianapolis - at one time owned by Nellie's husband, Walter.
Nellie wrote a number of poems. Some wistful, others whimsical.
